rustyzman Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 (edited) I saw that sale and meant to post about it but forgot, Sorry all. Thought about going, but really must control my estate sale habit. I love them. If anybody does want it, you should call or email the estate sale company. So much of the stuff at these sales does not sell on the sale days. It does have a cool service body. rustyzman Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 Just for the hey of it I emailed them to see if it sold and what they were asking. Curiosity is killing me. We'll see if they reply or not. Quote
Flatie46 Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 This guy had some cool stuff, I'd like to have the old snap on box and it's contents. I bet theirs some good tools in that box. Quote
rustyzman Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 No doubt there were. I find that when they specifically take pictures of something, the price goes way up. Best ones are when the stuff you want is dirty and tucked in a corner, or its a big box with some rusty stuff in it. Thats when the deals really hit. About 6 months ago they had a sale here of a tool salesman that passed away. He had a 3 bedroom house with a shed and two garages that were FILLED with mostly new brand name tools. This sale was insane. NOS channellock pliers from 30 years ago (even some of the cool ones they don't make anymore). SK, MAC, SnapOn, Cornwell, Robinair, Skil Air Tools (they haven't made them in a long time, grandpa was Tool and Die there for 30+ years), you name it. Just bins and bins of tools everywhere. Where was this sale when I was an apprentice buying at retail off the truck? I left about 4 hours before the final closing on the second weekend and there were still more tools there than you could move with a half dozen box trucks. Gotta love estate sales. I emailed the guy about the '47. He did not sell the truck because he has no title. He said that he sold some pieces, but not specific about it. If you are looking for stuff, email them, he is willing to sell. I am waiting for a reply about the wheels myself. Quote
rustyzman Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Just talked to the sale manager. The family decided to keep the truck. At least it won't be scrapped. Quote
