pflaming
Since I was under the truck with the tranny and a friend was present, we jacked up the rear wheel to check the ratio. One revolution of the tire turned the spline two revolutions! Is my diffy then on a 2:1 Ratio? Wouldn't that be a fast rear end. I been wondering about this truck. Most forum members have 7 and 9 leaf springs, my truck has five (5) front and rear. Was there such a thing as a light duty truck and then is mine one of those????? This truck reportedly came from Arizona, driven to CA by an Indian woman.
austinsailor
The differential will double the speed of the drive shaft if only one wheel is turning. Therefore, it's 4 to 1, or more likely, 4.11 to 1.
