marfulle
I am doing alittle patch work on my 1948 sedan's floorboards. I was wondering if anyone knows what gauge or thickness the sheetmetal should be for the floorboards. Thanks Eric
Norm's Coupe
For patch work you can use anything between about 18 gauge & 22 gauge. If making large patches you should put beads in the steel so the floor doesn't pan when you step on it. I was told that most body shops use 22 or 24 gauge today. Lou Earle
I used 16 and that gave a bit of stiffness to the patchitself Lou
