BeBop138 Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 He is a pic of the VPW set up. They mentioned that the valve has to be installed up and down---by looking at the plumbing it could go either way. The parts are all tight like it was taken off an engine---wonder how this thing was hooked up? Quote
aero3113 Posted May 13, 2010 Author Report Posted May 13, 2010 That looks nothing like what they sent me. Here are some pics of the valve and adapter they sent me. I had to make up fittings and a hose to make it work. Quote
BeBop138 Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 Aero, in your third pic where does your connection go to? I thought it would terminate there? Quote
jd52cranbrook Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 PVW should have sent you a drawing and instructions,, if you do not have them, Areo or I can send them to you. Quote
BeBop138 Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 PVW should have sent you a drawing and instructions,, if you do not have them, Areo or I can send them to you.I Will have to modify what they sent---that won`t be a problem--on my second pic does the valve marked up look correct---just need to know it is facing the right direction---and where does that line going up from the intake on Areo`s third pic go? As I said I thought it terminated there----then you did the line from the oil filler tube to the air cleaner. I will take a copy of the install from VPW---send it E-mail please..........Thanks Lee Quote
jd52cranbrook Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 Looks like the same as mine, but I cant tell what way is up from the pic of mine, it has been awhile and I cant really look in there. The instructions I have are in Adobe Acrobat and I don't know how to post those type of images on here or in the sites email system, send me a pm with your regular email and I will send them that way. aero3113 Posted May 13, 2010 Author Report Posted May 13, 2010 Aero, in your third pic where does your connection go to? I thought it would terminate there? The connection goes to my wipers. Quote
BeBop138 Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 The connection goes to my wipers. OK, got it. I have electric wipers, never connected the dots...........will show pics with mine done later..............Lee Quote
BeBop138 Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 (edited) Here is a pic of the valve VPW has with there kit. It says on the valve " take apart every 250 hours or 10,000 miles--wash in varnish remover install arrow up" Must be good it`s made in Minnesota LOL:D Solves the problem which way to install. I could mount the valve with a short nipple right out of my intake or the fitting where the draft tube was----I only have a run of about 12 inches with the intake I had made---do you think it makes any difference if it`s closer to the block side or intake? Edited May 13, 2010 by BeBop138 more info Quote
BeBop138 Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 Finished up the valve today---do you think it is to close to the exhaust manifold? Quote
aero3113 Posted May 16, 2010 Author Report Posted May 16, 2010 Should be fine, mine is about the same. Quote
BeBop138 Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 Got the oil fill tube to the carb done tonite---didn`t come out as good as I thought it would-----maybe a re-route later. Quote
