Pick this gem up on the web, took about three minutes to do and bushing came right out. First tap the bushing ( I was doing a Chev type, used 5/8 tap ), clean threads, insert bolt till it bottoms out in crank, turn slowly with even pressure and the bushing walks out. $5 bucks and welding the nut on. Cheap tool and works great.:D:D................Lee P.S. Another thing some of the bushings have been made in China---they use some steel mixed in their bushings. It make them not as good for lubricating the input shaft----use a real Oilite bushing----any of the bushings that you can pick with a magnet----DO NOT USE.

I've got an even easier way. Get a piece of round stock or an old input shaft that fits in the pilot bearing. Pack the pilot bearing full of grease, insert the round stock and whack it with a hammer. The hydraulic pressure exerted on the grease will force the pilot bearing out..........and that is slicker than snot on a door knob. :D

rockable,

It's considered poor form here to 'high-jack' a post, which means changing the topic to fit your own agenda, which is why I do it at every opportunity. It keeps some of the guys on their toes.

Welcome to the forum. You bumped my 'slicker than snot' by adding the 'on a doorknob', and I like it, but I can kick it up a notch by adding a line from a movie character played by Willie Nelson when he was depressed. Problem is that while none of us are prudes (many of us are combat veterans, and combat veterans are rarely prudes) we have mutually agreed to leave swearing and other forms of blue language out of print. To this end I will not add the line after my signature and request that NOBODY read it, please.

Again, welcome to the forum.

Have done it that way and had a few not come out. Used pullers and broke one. This was the fastest and cleanest way I have done it yet:D........hey what ever works, just another option.........Lee

To be fair, Randy sent me a PM to apologize for the way that came across. (I meant it literally, not in someone's idea of vulgar or blue.) No hard feelings. We're all big boys.
