I purchased a new pair of steering box to frame insulators today. My old ones are in bad shape. Will this change any adjustments when I install the new ones? Is the inner insulator a seal too or is the box a sealed unit? Also anyone know what the torque value is on the bolts?

Hi Aero, the tie rod ends that attach to the pitman shaft should be able to move some, do not think it will affect the toe-in. It should not affect Camber in anyway............Fred

The box is not a sealed unit as per say, as there is a gasket on the front where the 4 bolts attach to the box, there is also a shaft seal

But there is no gasket between the Insulator and box, right? Just an easy R and R?

I have never done this job Aero, but do know there is a gasket on the case itself, and do not think the rubber insulator pads are gaskets, they simply cushion the box to the frame, from what I have read..........

The rubber insulators are just that, insulators, there is no gasket etc between them and the steering box, the 3 bolts that go thru from the outside of the chassis also have very thin metal sleeves that go around/inside the rubber "lugs" that point towards the inside of the chassis.........if you had a sectional view fromm the front of the car looking at the steering box mount , from the right hand side..... there is the bolt, flatand/or spring washer under the bolt head, approx 3/8 thick metal plate, metal sleeve, rubber insulator, metal anticrush tube inside the chassis, steering box side rubber insulator, steering box metal sleeve and steering box........there is no "gasket" of any sort........dunno if this helps.......andyd
