aero3113 Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 That's great news! The exhaust leak may have gotten better because the manifold expanded when it was hot. Re torque the bolts on the manifold and maybe it will seal up. Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted March 6, 2010 Author Report Posted March 6, 2010 So every time you check the oil it will read a quart low, no? Since you've always got a quart sitting up in the canister. Thanks to everyone, by the way, who posted with suggestions and advice. Radiator comes off tomorrow. Water pump is shot. Quote
55 Fargo Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 Great stuff, Joe, I have been following your last 2 days, been busy with mine too, It is nice when things come together. I am sure you will get everything worked out, so you can get back to getting this car back togther and on the road........Fred Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted March 6, 2010 Author Report Posted March 6, 2010 Thanks, Fred. It's a roller coaster ride. First time I've done a lot of this stuff. That's the fun of it, though. I forgot to mention that putting in the correct gasket stopped the carburetor leak. Go figure. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 If I remember right, from 50 years ago, when you change the oil, you put in five quarts. When you change the oil AND the filter, you put in six quarts. It's making my head hurt. Quote
