claybill Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 just saw movie 'sutter island' good, interesting, and a little scary and twisted..enough to keep me there for 2 hours anyway. 2 great cars...48 dodge sedan and 48 buick fastback.wow! and they blew it up!! claybill Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 Is it Sutter or Shutter Island? Tom Quote
Kustom52Mopar Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 I saw that movie too, good movie in my opinion, but I'm pretty sure they didn't actually blow them up. The flames and explosions look computer generated to me, which is a good thing. Those were some beautiful cars. And its Shutter Tom Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 Thanks, when I googled it all that came up was Shutter Island. Leonardo DiCaprio movie. Tom Quote
Flatie46 Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 Me and the wife went to see this movie tonite. I give it two thumbs up. Quote
Shawn F. Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 I thought that it was a great movie! Very predictable I thought but still good. As for the car he blew up, I thought it was a Buick fastback as well but saw somewhere online that it was a old Rolls Royals... Doesn't look like one to me. I would have to watch the movie again or that part to look at it again closely because like you, I could have sworn it was a Buick. I even told my friend that when we were watching the movie. Also a new show that JUST came out tonight is "The Pacific". Not to change subject but it looks awesome and I do not have HBO anymore so very angry! Band of Brothers is my all time favorite movie/mini series ever. Quote
Flatie46 Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 It was a buick, said buick eight on the trunk even. The Pacific, I gotta see it! Hmm, who do I know that's got HBO that I can invite myself over and watch it? Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 I saw Shutter Island recently too. I have to say I was disappointed. I thought it was implausible in a lot of places. Ben Kingsley is always good, though, and whoever the guy was that played the old doctor was great. The car they "blew up" was a Buick. The guards drove around in a Dodge. I grew up in Cape Cod and I can tell you there is no island like that among the Boston Harbor Islands. That place had West Coast written all over it. The Boston Harbor Islands are actually low, grassy things, not very dramatic. They were used for sheep grazing and pottery manufacture in colonial times. I never liked DiCaprio but as he gets older he gets better. I can actually watch his movies now that he doesn't remind me of an elf. Quote
Reg Evans Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 It was a buick, said buick eight on the trunk even. The Pacific, I gotta see it! Hmm, who do I know that's got HBO that I can invite myself over and watch it? I just checked and Netflix has it ! Quote
Shawn F. Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 Netflix has what? Better be The Pacific or I will be very angry!!!!! Quote

Shawn F. Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 I see it listed to "Save" it when it comes out but I do not see it available to watch. I am not too familiar with Netflix site and may be looking at the wrong section I do not know. Thanks. Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 I believe new HBO episodes are available online about a week after they first air. Just Google "The Pacific, episodes online" and you should get a hit. I did that with "Madmen" and was able to watch the entire third season online. Quote
