Rodney Bullock Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 The historical soceity of DC Has pegged me to do a historical time line of a club I used to be in. Since I am a past President, I was asked to do a presentation at the DC city library on 2-14 2010. I have been collecting data all week and will meet with the club elders. I hope they can come up with the data from the early years. I came along in the last ten years of the club. The first ten years are interesting as this is the period the club formed it's bylaws and mission statment. There has been only 3 Presidents in the clubs history, the first is dead and the other is very old. Then there is me:) Can you imagine me as President? I was truly good. During my rein of terror The club had a fansy banquet, did movies, won at the World of Wheels. We are supposed to bring the cars up to the libray. I will be bringing the 1940 Plymouth coupe. I hope it can do this with the dignity it deserves. Quote
randroid Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Rodney, That sounds like an excellent opportunity to give a talk to people who are interested in what you have to say. The Historical Society of DC are, through necessity, some of the most informed local historians you'll ever run across and to be invited to speak to them is a real honor. Congratulations! -Randy Quote
Niel Hoback Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Congratulations Rodney, I guess they recognized your talent. Quote
Greenbomb Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 That sounds like a real interesting thing to be involved with. Maybe you could share a highlight or two? Quote
adam_knox Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Hey congrats! Just make sure you have all your past due library fines paid or the librarians might snag you at the door! Which reminds me, I need to return some books... Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Should be an interesting and informative talk, Rodney. I bet you'll do a great job. And the coupe will likely be a hit with the folks. Let us know how it goes. Quote
1940plymouth Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Congrats Rodney, Please keep us posted and photos of the coupe next to the library if possible. Bob Quote
Jim Yergin Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Rodney, Congratulations. Do you think all the snow they are predicting for later today will be melted by the 14th? Jim Yergin Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted February 5, 2010 Author Report Posted February 5, 2010 I hope so Jim, if not I am sure we can make a rain:osnow date. Let's cross our fingers. I would drive the Plymouth anyway. In 1940 they had much more snow then this, didn't they? Quote
Niel Hoback Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Rodney, if you gat a write-up of any kind in the papers, please let us know. Thanks. Quote
