David Maxwell Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 If you get a chance, take a look at the image in this link: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v455/bojeta/40s%2050s%20Photos/?action=view¤t=Alex-Texaco-station4b2.jpg I gave my students a little more lattitude this year in working with their car images. Options inlcuded: Photos of real cars, toy cars, vintage car pics etc. This student decided to use a Toy Chevy Fleetline I had in my classroom. She added a background from a `40's gas station painting and then superimposed her picture with hair borrowed from a picture of `40's actress Janet Blair. She added the driver's pic from the famous Lincoln Zephyr on my website. Added graining and poster edging to the car and her picture in Photoshop to achieve a similar look to the original painting and then added a shadow under the car. Some final detailed adjustments and she came up with a pretty cool image. Wish the image came out nicer after being reduced, compressed and uploaded to the web, but still nice. David Quote

David Looks nice, David. Tell your student that he has some good art skills and also good taste in cars. I noticed that many of the kids today like our cars. My students can't wait til I'm done and ask me whan I'll take the car to school. I'll take it when I don't have to park it there, I tell them...LOL! Quote
