You can get aircraft quality birch plywood in various thickness from suppliers of parts to the homebuilt aircraft industry. Go to your bookstore and pick up a copy of Sport Flyer or other homebuilt aircraft magazine and look at the adds.

I was just done with a long post for the second time,look up and poof all gone,this is the third attempt.

I would use 'kemlite or aka 'dairy barn liner' same as they use in refrigerated reefers or public bathrooms alot. Very versitile,flexy but stiff,easy to work with, common tools. As long as you are putting something over it anyway,,,perfect backing!!
