BobT-47P15 Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 Here's something for you other old rock-n-roll fans. I don't know how many are familiar with the name Jason D. Williams, but he's the closest thing to Jerry Lee Lewis you'll ever find. Apparently there's no relationship between the two. Here's a link to a You Tube clip (there are several more on there). Jason is currently traveling around the country doing shows. A schedule is posted on his website. http://www.rockinjasondwilliams.com/ Been trying to catch one of his appearances for several years, but none were convenient. He will be in two places in Kansas City this summer, maybe can get to one now. Quote

BobT-47P15 Posted January 18, 2010 Author Report Posted January 18, 2010 (edited) And, in case anyone likes Zydeco music.......there was a special group trip on our cruise put on by nationally known Zydeco player Chubby Carrier. He told me he sponsors the trip annully about this time of year. He played for private group dances at the rear section of the "Lido" deck. Visited with him a bit - seems like a nice guy. He travels all over the country - from his home in Louisiana. His website: http://www.chubbycarrier.com/ Some of his music on You Tube: Edited January 18, 2010 by BobT-47P15 Quote
Robin (UK) Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 Hey Bob, How about Boppin Steve, from Sweden?... He played our Rhythm Riot festival in November. He sounds just like The Killer himself. It's uncanny! Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted January 19, 2010 Author Report Posted January 19, 2010 Robin......Boppin Steve is good!! So, now we've got two good Jerry Lee players in the world. And also on this cruise was the midget fellow from here who does Elvis material, Duke Mason. They had a travel group for whom they played two private shows, then one public show on the pool deck Thursday afternoon. In my opinion, they were the best band on the ship. Here's Duke performing in Memphis in 2007 with the Jordanaires. Quote
