I have a hard time posting pictures, maybe if I'd do it more often I'd get the hang of it. Anyway, the adapter plate fit good I need to take the belhousing to work next week and open the hole up in it and a couple other things. While I've been off this week I cleaned the basement up enough to actually get my car in:eek:

Looks good.

With the way the adapter sticks out as far as it does, I would be concerned that it's gonna be hitting the floor or get in the way of something,

I wonder why the maker didn't trim it up??? :D:eek:

Also keep a close eye on your rear engine mount clearance.

I'm going to make a trip to pull a part and pick up an s-10 trans mount and crossmember. I know there will be some work to be done there.

I think have one you can have if you want to pick it up. I will go look. But it will not fix your rear engine mount issue.

It looks like the bolt hole on the bottom right of your t-5 in the pic is closer to the trans case than the same one my t-5. Did you move the hole or is there a difference in our transmissions that I'm not aware of? Oh and thanks for the offer on the trans mount, may take ya up on it. Everybody on this forum is always willing to help eachother. Hope you all have a safe and happy new year!

Not all t-5's are created equal. I had to bob the ears and re-drill the holes. I also had to modify the lower front of the T-5 transmission case to clear the rear crossmember as seen in the before and after pictures. The one on the left is the one I modified.

I see in Don C photos, he did not use an adapter plate. When using an adapter plate, did you have any problem with the pilot shaft length lining up into the pilot bearing. Do you have any photos of the pilot bearing? thanks, Bob.

Thanks Don C. I have save alot of your photos of your T5 setup. I was wondering when using an adapter plate, about the length of the pilot shaft and bearing. I would rather have my bell housing machined out to accept the shaft retainer bearing, if possible......................

My adapter plate was made on a cnc vertical mill. One of the guys in our tool and die dept. took the measurements from the t-5 bellhousing and the plymouth bellhousing punched them into the computer and centered them. Then printed a template, we checked all the holes looked good so we chucked up a plate, pushed a couple buttons and it was done. I haven't made the pilot bushing adapter yet so I can't say for sure if it lined up good. It looks good and it should because in the cnc program the center BH holes were centered up, hopefully I can tell you soon.

Yea, I saw that but I thought the car had over a hundred thousand miles on it and if the original hole is off a little it hasn't seemed to matter so far.

If you make a adapter plug like the one Don made that I copied you will want to chuck the flywheel up and turn the center hole to a true diameter and the taper to a true 10 degrees so that the plug will fit and be tight. We did not true my hole up and the angle from the factory is less than 10 degrees, like 9 degrees 54 minutes. We made the plug with a 10 degree bevel and it took a lot of fine filing to get a tight fit that did not want to rock back and forth.

Thanks for the tip. I was thinking the adapter plug would work best in my case.
