Furylee2 Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 I've seen it on the Bay before as well. It's in NJ, but near Philly. It looks like something funny is going on under the hood. I see one of those ballast resisters on the firewall, yet it has a 6 volt battery. Does anyone on the board live near that would be willing to look at the car? I have a retired teacher acquaintance that saw mine last year and wants one real bad. But he’s concerned about buying sight unseen, and then paying to get it shipped here. Quote
Normspeed Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 Nice looking coupe. 41 is my favorite. Not so sure I like the seller's 95% feedback though. Anyone know, is the underhood oilcan and bracket a factory item, or aftermarket, or?? I think that is so neat. Quote
Jim Yergin Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 I don't recall seeing any under hood oil cans in any of the 1941 Plymouth material I have. I think it must be after-martket. I did notice that the gear shift knob indicates that the car should have the vacuum assisted "power shift" option. Also, the hub caps are not 1941 Plymouth hubcaps and I believe the original fender welting should have been stainless steel on the '41 Special Deluxe so the welting on this car must have been replaced. Lou Earle Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 The oil can set up was an aftermarket Item basically designed to attaceh under an A model hood. They are considered prize accessories by Model A fans. Lou Quote
Normspeed Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 It's the perfect accessory for the Plymouth motor with the oil cups for the generator, distributor and wiper bezels. I have a coupla old sewing machine squirt cans. I'll have to look into making a little bracket or clip. Quote
Furylee2 Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 Nice looking coupe. 41 is my favorite. Not so sure I like the seller's 95% feedback though. Has anyone looked at his feedback? Half of his negative feedback was selling this very car! Quote
Skrambler Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 I really get a kick out of those running boards! Look to be wooden to me! At the very least, they have the wrong molding on them. Quote
