As many of you know I am repainting my '48 Dodge D25. The painter has had issues with the paint supplied and we are working through that. The car is presently back in my garage with the hood off and the two fenders bolted on with two bolts each. I had a good spare radiator and thought it would be a good time to replace the so-so one in the car as well as the heater core which weeps with a good spare. So, I pulled the passenger fender for easy access. Pulled the radiator. Looked at the front motor mount and after 30 years it is looking tired. I am going to replace that. Pulled the inner fender to get at the heater. Noticed again that my manifolds could use a new gasket. Dropped the exhaust pipe. Pandora's box is fully opened and I can see a couple more jobs I will likely do. While the manifold is off and being surfaced, I will pull the valve covers and do some cleaning there. Clean the carb. Likely a few more other odds and ends. New tires are on order. Some chrome being redone.

I just have to make myself turn a blind eye to some things or it will never end. No, I am not going to clean my engine and chassis. The car gets lots of miles, many on gravel so it will just get dirty again soon. I thought I would just post this as most of us know that when you start on one job you usually end up doing several. This car was totally together just two month ago and had been on the road for 30 years! I hope to have it ready for a big car show next July!

Uh, yeah, Robert, looks like new tires may be in order.

You going with radials??

No, bias ply. I have no issues with them. The front end is excellent on the car and it doesn't wander too much even with the baldies that are on it now.
