Rodney, where did you get that condenser thingy? I have one on my '47 that I need to replace. I am very much looking forward to cruising down the road with the AM playing static free. Merry Chrstmas!!

I think I got a new condensor at my O'Reilly or NAPA store.....along with

points, etc.

Hi Joe,I just went out and had a look at my Dodge. The crimp connectors with the spikes were not the ones I used.I've taken a photo what they look like, also with a crimped connector in the middle.I don't think you can get a satisfactory crimp using a coax crimp tool as the connector pinches into the insulation at the split when using the proper tool.

I bought my pre-cut copper wires from Andy B. They came with the crimp on connectors for both ends of the wire. Although I do have three sets of wire crimpers, from the cheapo ones to the real nice ones, I did not use any of them to crimp on the connectors. I just used a pair of pliers, and they worked fine. I did mess up a couple of the connectors that go into the distributor cap doing it. But.........that was due to not getting the little pointed end located into the wire correctly, not the crimping part. When that happened, I simply went to NAPA and bought a few more. They have them in stock at the store for both ends, and they are dirt cheap.

...found this tool on the internet-looks like it's probably better than the one I have -at $33.50,may be overkill for one time use

Thanks guys. And thanks, Tim, for the offer. I'm going to see what happens when I start the engine and then I'll take it from there. I did actually get the rubber boots and the terminal ends in a little bag with the wires. They look like the ones Ralph posted (the ones on the left and the right). I think my problem was using a tool intended for coaxial cable though I redid a couple today and they came out pretty well.
