Rodney Bullock Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 Ah Man, another rainy week end. I can't take it. I just can't. We went to the show this morning( no sunny sky) Hoping to get there and get settled in. I got there and there was a big sign "cancelled" Up in Rockville there was no rain. My daughter and I drove around, went to a eatery and had a great meal. On the way back we stopped at the car wash and clean the hawk. As soon as we drove out the rain started pouring down. We got to the car port and pulled in. What can I do:cool: I guess the good times are gone. Fall then winter. Rain rain here to stay, where's the sun...not here today.:rolleyes:clearing tomrrow....maybe. Quote
1940plymouth Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 Rodney, Look at it this way, you got to take your daughter out for the day in the Hawk, that is a good thing, even on a rainy day. We have had just under two inches of rain today up here, but tomorrow is suppose to be nicer, sure hope so Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 Last year I attended the Rockville show and connected once again with my good friend Rodney. Sorry this show was rained out this year as it was a very good show. Rodneys daughter took this picture. Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 Hey Rodney, the last couple of hours it's been coming down like crazy. I have my hood sitting out in the driveway with a cover over it. All it needs is polishing. I drove down to the paint place in Springfield to see how they were doing matching my paint--getting close. I was going to go to Michael's to see if they had something I could use to try woodgraining but didn't feel like driving there. Can't really do anything. Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 Oh, and I should add that I said something to that effect to my wife, which was a mistake. Next thing I know, I've got the vacuum cleaner in my hand. Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 I wish you would send some of that rain over this way we need it. It was 85 here today and I just finished painting the Fascia Boards on the house so now the whole house has been painted. It was white with green trim now it is beach with green & white trim. Now the house almost matches Kathy's new car. (Sandy Beach) Dennis:eek: Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 Sometimes that painting stuff is a sunny beach. I finished cleaning the vinyl siding and metal guttering on our house a few days ago. Next, gotta get some mildew looking green stuff off the side of the storage building. Had to mow the yard as we've had just enough rain to keep it growing, even though the weather is cooler. Too bad the show was cancelled, Rodney, but good you got to spend time with your daughter. Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 Dennis, that looks pretty darn dry out there. In about six weeks I'll be wishing I was out there. The weather here on the East Coast is muggy and warm but there's a big storm system sitting on top of us. Cancelled the Yankees-Angels game. I guess you don't need a lawnmower, huh? Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted October 25, 2009 Author Report Posted October 25, 2009 You guy's are right on point. I love spending time with my little girl.(22 years old). She thinks her old man is a super hero. I have a picture of her in the kitchen and I remind her of the time when she was very very little. We were at the auto parts store and I was buying a part. I did not have all the money on me so she says" Daddy just ask that machine, it gives everybody money":) I said I don't know it might not give me any. She says " oh yes it will, If you ask nicely:D. The guy at the counter thought that was so funny. He let me take the part home and bring the money back later. I took her everywhere ever since. I did meet a guy in the eatery that was from a small town in VA. called Glouster. He had a couple of T-birds 61,63 ones a convertible and ones a hard top. We swapped cards and he called tonite. He is more excited then me, said we must get together and talk again. He say the stude from the window and could not eat. He waited for me to finish and came over, I think another day trip is coming:rolleyes: You guy's doing your house chores is a good thing just think how much stuff I got to do all summer just to get another hobby car:cool: and they ask me why I drink! Dennis Hemingway Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 (edited) Now if the paint fades just a little on the house will match my garage. The color Kathy picked was the closest they had to match the garage. Rodney, I was stationed at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, so I know what your weather is like. moparbenny Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Canceled a car show because of rain??? if that happened up here in Washington state..we wouldn't have any shows...but I was born here and have webbed feet... but don't worry Rodney about the show, getting to the show is the fun part. unless the show has like a poker run or something ,then that's sad.... It's good to hear I'm not the only Studebaker owner on here! Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted October 28, 2009 Author Report Posted October 28, 2009 (edited) No your not, there are alot of Stude owners that have Plymouths here, what kind of Stude do you have? Edited October 28, 2009 by Rodney Bullock Quote
