clay diggs Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 when and why did Plymouth use a cast iron clutch cover and braces? I found one on a P26 and was wondering why. Clay Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted October 15, 2009 Report Posted October 15, 2009 My 1952 Plymouth Belvedere came with the Cast iron lower cover with the 2 cast brackets from new. The car has factory overdrive- and the cast brackets attach to the extra 2 holes on the OD case. This iron lower cover is an extra reinforcement to support the heavier OD transmission. Bob Quote
clay diggs Posted October 15, 2009 Author Report Posted October 15, 2009 The car I saw this on, also had an overdrive transmission. I believe that is probably the answer. Thanks Clay Quote
