grey beard Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 Will a 1948 Windsor gearbox fit my 1948 B1B? Looking at the two from underneath, they sure look the same. How about inpu shaft length? I know the top covers will need to be switched. Anybody have this information? Thanks Quote
Byronb3b Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 I have a two extra trannys for my Windsor, both M-5 semi-automatics, willing to measure anything on them that you need. Quote

The truck trans bolt pattern is also different than the M-5 trans. Input shaft bearing retainer will also be different. With enough work you could figure a way to do it. I once put a R10 OD in a 51 Dodge panel! It was a ton of work but got the panel to drive 75 MPH! Scary in an old panel. Bob Quote
grey beard Posted September 29, 2009 Author Report Posted September 29, 2009 This Windsor trans looks just like mine from underneath. Don't know that it is an M5 or not. It is fluid drive, howewever, and my truck is not. Quote
