DLK
What would cause a P-15 three speed to pop out of second gear when using it to slow the car going downhill? Is it more likely to be bushing/bearing problem or a problem with the gears themselves? Or is this somewhat normal?
Captain Neon
Had the same problem with my '46. It was the throw-out bearing that went bad. It gets progressiver worse until finally it won't shift into 2nd or even third at all. I ran about six years until it finally didn't work at all. 55 Fargo
I had this problem, for me it was shifter linkage problems, corrected thi and it went away. I needed to adjust the linkage a bit, it seems fine now. I may have been lucky on this one.....
P-12 Tommy
Rockwood's right on the linkage adjustment possibility. It also could be a worn syncro gear. Tom
