Well, if my calibrated eye is working, you are about to have a problem on your rear carb that is a great annoyance. It looks like the pin that goes through the casting to hold the bridge that the filter stud screws into has pulled out enough to release the back side of the bridge.

The problem is that there isn't anything to stop the pin from sliding out; apparently it was up to the air cleaner base to block it. You will need to find a way to prevent it moving, or it will come out; I fought it for a year (once I figured it out) and finally came up with a different air cleaner base to prevent it.

Will Langdon`s air cleaners work? What kind of base are you using? I have made a air cleaner from a 15" four barrel set up--made my own base---thanks for the tip and will fix that soon. What have you done on the re-jetting on yours............Lee

I haven't seen Langdon's air cleaners, so can't tell. My current setup uses a gasket that is more of a spacer, since it is made out of 3/8" sheet rubber, then a flat base made out of 1/8" steel, which also retains the pins in question. Then a pair of 6" diameter 2" tall K&N filters and an O'Brien Trucking cover.

No progress on the rejetting, as the Weber tunings books were on backorder everywhere until earlier this week, so I haven't received it yet.

Lookin good! Heres my intake from Moose..it's under there somewhere. Moose and I decided on not putting that heated side pipe on mine back when I ordered it. Since I live in San Diego...and it's getting warmed up plenty by the heater hose next to it. Your heating design is pretty much the same thing I was thinking of, nice to see it in action. Looks really neat. If I need to heat it up more...I was thinking of a copper tubing coiled around the intake with water flowing through it. Would look neat too.

My air cleaner is a "custom job"...just two sheets of aluminum I cut down down to size...and some threaded rod. The air cleaners I used are from Napa. I forgot the part number. When I went in the store I asked to see some air filters that were of the dimensions of the aluminum pieces I had. Turns out the best ones were for the carbs original application! An 80's Ford Fiesta! I stacked 2 of them...that ought to be perfect since theres two carbs. They were about $10 each.

I haven't done much to the carbs except slow down the idle and remove the choke adjusting screws. Eventually I'll take off the electric connections too.

So far so good on the intake---some adjustments to the carbs---more later....Lee

Took about a 80 mile run today---the dual Carter-Webers work GREAT, almost like adding another gear----pulls harder in 5th up hills, no more down shifting, more speed and power. Idle needs to be set a little higher---worked great out of the box. Looking with interest on how well they work on the new engine....Lee
