Hi folks,

Anyone know of any salvage yards with in a 50 radius of Monroe NJ that has vintage cars. The few yards I checked have nothing older then 1990.

Thanks,

Alex

Alex there is a Freindship Yard on Rre 70 in the area of Hampton Lakes. Its East of 206 (red lion Circle) take 70 to New Rd turn right and follow a couple of miles the yard will be on your left. the cars are hard to get too and the old ones are not great, What year are you looking for, I went all thru it, check for ticks when your done, we had many on us. I live in Freehold and went to Blewett's in Farmingdale several years ago. They had a bunch of old stuff, neatly organized, but their prices were on the moon.

While we're on the subject, does anyone know of any late-model U-Pull-It yards in NJ? I need some pieces for my everyday drivers.

Shel,

Thanks for the offer. I don't need anything drastic at this point. The highest item on my priority list, believe it or not, is a 14" plastic wheelcover for our '99 Contour, followed by a couple of P195-65-14 tires (hopefully on the correct rims) for the same car.

We'll be in NYS soon and there is a u-pull off I-81 just south of Binghamton that I want to stop at if there's time.

I've never seen any u-pulls in my area, and I'm beginning to think there aren't any around here.

Harold, going back about 5 or 6 years ago there was a junk yard off texas rd I use to go to. It was off texas road going east of 9 almost to matawan name was h&h or something like that. Not sure if he is still in business but a great place pull your own parts great prices .

There also is or was a yard on texas rd out that way but this guy was a little past it you made a left turn and went down a dirt road he was at the end of it.

As this was around 2003 it could be a housing development by now.

There is a yard on Texas Road that I was at recently, but it wasn't a self-service place. Also there is a salvage auction yard near by. I didn't know there was a yard off Texas Road. I'll have to check that out.

Alex I never found a phone # The yard goes back to the 1940's and I never found a listing, a friend took me there, my only regret was not taking off the hood brace on one of the 49 or 50 ply. I was looking for a 47 none there, I could have cut the the 50 down

to size. thats my story and I'm sticking to it. Jim\

PS: If you or Harold want to go to a cruise on the 22nd at 6 PM Ocean county Mall (571 and Hooper) Vintage auto club, Vintage Muesum of Ocean Cty
