Fernando Mendes Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 Restored B3-B front medallion without chrome. Not expensive. Quote
stevenelle Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 Tell us how you did this. I may use same technique on grill bars on 1950. Have thought of painting them with chrome enamel paint. Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted July 13, 2009 Author Report Posted July 13, 2009 Only chrome spray. The thread and word "job rated" was painted hand made(not spray).Ok? Quote
HanksB3B Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 My grill rails match my truck (green) but I'm not sure what color to paint my "Job-Rated" centerpiece. I do know one method is to "float-in" or "pool" the paint used for the letters by using something like a syringe with thined out paint like pinstrippes use. Thers also supposed to be a thin line at the bottom edge of the horizontal grill rails. Thanks, Hank Quote
MBF Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 Here's what I did w mine. Sprayed the white, and used a striping brush for the read and the black. A local motorcycle builder is offering a spray on chrome that can't be told from the real thing. Its a 2 stage paint that allows them to "chrome" and it doesn't have to be metalic since its a painted on process rather than a plating process. Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted July 14, 2009 Author Report Posted July 14, 2009 For example.....see these pics. Quote
coW52Dodge Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 For example.....see these pics. That looks like a very nice finish too and easy to do: Just leave stuff outside north of the rust belt. Seriously, nice job. I've never tried that chrome spray on paint but that sure looks great. Quote
