Bob_Koch Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 Dr. Victor Palma Chavez lives in Chile and sent these pictures of his Desoto truck. He's trying to find out who might have built the cab. Any ideas? He also sent a Desoto brochure, in Spanish, to put on our website: http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/desoto_brochure/desoto/imgcol/index.htm . Quote
Merle Coggins Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 WOW, that's pretty interesting. To me it looks like it was probably an aftermarket job. The rear axle sits a bit too far forward in the fender and I can see a seam in the running board that makes it look modified. Otherwise it's a cool idea and a good job of making an extended cab Pilot House. Merle Quote
OLD DODGE Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 Here are some info sheets on special cabs. The Proctor-Keefe shows the seams in the running boards. This P-K info is on a six man cab. I will look to see if I have any P-K info on a sleeper cab as thats what would most likely match up to this truck. If the owner had a build card on this truck that should give a clue as to how it left the factory. It may have been a professionally done cab and the bed & fenders be an amatuer installation done later. http://s682.photobucket.com/albums/vv183/DODGETRUCK/SPECIAL%20CABS/ This is the seam in the P-K running boards.
