Don Coatney Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 I take it you are basking in the moonlight on the Wabash once again. Quote

Joe Flanagan Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 What'd I miss? Did you go somewhere? Quote
Niel Hoback Posted June 1, 2009 Author Report Posted June 1, 2009 I just returned from 2 weeks in Hungary with a trip thru Austria and into Germany just for fun. It really drives home the fact that I am blessed to be an American in America. there are so many small things that I don't appreciate until I see those that don't have those things. Some people aren't allowed to have cars just for the fun of it. There are a million little things that I have to be thankful for, at this moment, I'm most grateful for a free country and the people that made it for me. I'm one lucky guy to be here and say "I'm home". Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 Sounds like a great trip. I'm kind of surprised you got that impression from Germany and Austria. Hungary, yeah, I can see it. You're right about not appreciating what we have until we go somewhere else. I'm always amazed at how clean, efficient, and plentiful things are here. I know people will give examples of places in the US where that's not the case, but on the whole, we're really blessed. Go to Mexico. Or even Puerto Rico. Try India or the Middle East. Africa--yikes.
