Fernando Mendes Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 In this pic we see only one bearing(down) in each side of the front axle(1/2 ton).In mine has two bearings in each side(up & down). What kind of damage could occur in this manner?Any help could be welcome. Quote
daimlerchryslerman Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Hi there, Not qualified to answer what kind of damage but the parts catalogue does show only one bearing per side in my book. Ray Quote
carl b51 Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 (edited) There should only be 1 bearing between the I-Beam and the Knuckle on each side. There may be shims also Edited May 31, 2009 by carl b51 Quote
alberts truck o matic Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 Since the weight is in one direction one bearing is all that is needed. There are shims used to tighten worn parts but only one bearing in any I have seen. That may be somebodys custom construction. Or it was worn so far that another bearing was used to fill the gap.
