I have an Edgy alumimum head, and was wondering what you guys that have these heads are using for spark plugs. It has a 1/2" of thread, I will be using the stock 6 volt ignition. thanks

Those Edgy heads are beautiful.

I would contact Earl for his recommendations on which plugs to use. Very few of us are familiar with Edgy heads. They look similar in design to the old Edmunds heads. Don Bunn's "Dodge Pickups History and Restoration Guide 1918-1971" suggests AC44FF plugs for the Edmunds aluminum heads.

Tom Langdon (Langdon's Stovebolt Engine Co) suggested I use AC45FFS or AC46FFS plugs with my Edmunds head (12 volt GM HEI ignition). I am running the 46's and have not had any trouble with clearance problems. If you are in doubt set the gap, put a bit of a putty like substance on the bottom of a plug insert it crank it over and then see if you have enough clearance with the piston.

I've been using Autolite AP425 plugs in my Edmunds head. It's a 1/2" reach non-extended tip platinum plug. The standard gap is something like .032", but I opened them up to .060" for my HEI. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. I had tried an Autolite extended tip plug, but just turning the motor over closed two of the plug gaps to zero, so not recommended that you try that!

I measured the thread length on my Edgy head and found it to be 7/16". I then looked for a plug in the correct heat range that had a 7/16" thread length and came up with RH10C Champions which seem to work fine.

the only thing i was advised on my FENTON was since the aluminum head is thicker than the stock..a long reach plug is needed to secure enough threads for strength..make sure they come to the edge of the head intrior..
