Don Jordan Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 Does anyone have a lead on upholstery suppliers? I got some swatches from (I forgot) 3 letters SHM or something like that. I called Lebaron but it's been weeks and they have not sent the requested samples. I was looking on the net but can't find anything. Hampton Coach does only Chevys. I am so close to being finished - thanks Quote
David Maxwell Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 ...because I found them to be the epitome of a customer service company. The other company was SMS. BTW, Hampton is a division of Lebaron Bonney or vise verse. Those are the only three I know of that carry the correct fabric. Did the SMS samples match? Quote
David Maxwell Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 When asking for samples, I recommend you tell them you are looking for 1942 to 1948 Plymouth samples. They used the same fabrics for all those years and they may have them coded under any or all of those. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 I e-mailed S M S just recently, told them what make and model Plymouth I have, and what type of material I was thinking of. In a couple of weeks I received an envelope containing some sample swatches in 4 styles of grey and 2 types of maroon. They said they are supposed to be for a P15. The convertible used some different material than sedans. Cost quoted was $85 per yard. I'm also going to try to get back to National Fabric Co in Kansas City and look thru their materials. Maybe they will have something close enough and at a lesser cost. Quote
Don Jordan Posted February 26, 2009 Author Report Posted February 26, 2009 I did like the choices SMS sent. It appears there are at least 3 choices to be made. Headliner, seats, door panels. Different shades. I want to do it right. The upholstery guy said he thought SMS was a little high but until I get something from Lebaron I don't have anything to compare to. The seats that were in the car were brown - but since I've painted the car blue I was thinking of going with a lighter gray. Looking at the swatches gave me chills trying to project it out. I guess I'll give Lebaron a few more days. I feel like a little kid a week before Christmas. Quote
