cole18cars Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Hello, I'm looking at led tail lites, and have a couple of questions. First, my original bulbs are dual contact, dual filament. How do led bulbs work i.e. when you have the head lites on one filament is working, and when you apply the brakes the other filament works. Does the led lite half for the brakes and half for the head lite? Thanks P.S. No turn signals Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Is your car 12 volts.......has to be to use the LED lights. Quote
cole18cars Posted February 20, 2009 Author Report Posted February 20, 2009 No 6 volt positive ground. I've seen ads for 6 volt led. Quote
steveplym Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Yeah you can get them. Here a link to a place that sells them. http://www.highspeedmotors.com/Webled.html There is information there that I think will answer your question too. Quote
Frank Elder Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 You guys made my day! :D Thanks a ton. Quote
aero3113 Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 When I received my 6 volt leds the bayonets were not the right style. I called them up and they told me just to file the higher side a little bit to make it fit snug in the socket. They work fine. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Glad to hear you got it worked out OK. When I said earlier 12V was needed, I was thinking of the Technostalgia lights that come as led's and just bolt on. Quote
