Finally started working on my 48 Dodge Panel. I have the front end stripped right now so I can weld in a Volare clip. Truck's getting a poly 318 with a 4 speed. I'm also going to use the rearend out of the volare. I've had sweptline trucks, but this is my first Pilot House, so I'm going to have a ton of questions:)

I tried to post some pics, but my file sizes are to big. Also tried using image shack and that didn't work. I searched the site looking for info "how to post pics", but found nothing. Any help would be much appreciated. Nevermind just figured it out! Here's a few...One is current, the other where I dug it out from... thanks, andrew

I see you are going to street rod it, that means it will probably get a lot of use and hopefully many miles of enjoyment. Don't expect great milage, you will be punching a big hole in the air going down the road. If you get into strong side winds hang on you may change lanes in the blink on the eye. I have a 46 chev panel delivery street rodded and it has seen over 50,000 miles, many vacations threw several states. One safety item I may suggest is install floor hold downs. If you happen to haul something that is big or heavy you want it to stay put if you stop fast or get in a wreck. Also if you have a cowl vent leave it there, I removed mine and there is NO air movement even with both side windows open. Insulate well. the only thing that saves me is air-conditioning. My windshield will open but I don't open it now that I have it so it does'nt leak, and the fact that when it is open those BUGS feel like someone is shooting you with a BB gun.

Kind of street roddin it. I'm going to use it for my pool tile cleaning side business. So, it' still going to be a work truck. I already have the Volare clip, so I thought I would use it on this. I'm probably going to put airbags in the rear to help with the weight, but also be able to lower it when I want. Thanks for the idea on the floor holdowns. Mine has a wood floor so it shouldn't be a problem..

Bud, I've seen your truck and the work you've done and it's sweet...
