DLK Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 No extra ply clocks I've got a dodge one and a desoto one. Lots of other various pieces around the place My 50 Dodge has a decent looking clock - like you I can at least spin the hands to make it right more than twice a day. The guys at Electro-Tech who repaired my radio discouraged me from spending the money to fix the clock unless I have a quartz movement hidden in it. Otherwise they said I will spend a lot of money and have a clock that works for a year or two like they originally did. Quote
Troganin Posted March 21, 2010 Report Posted March 21, 2010 Whats the differences between the plymouth, dodge, desoto clocks? The plymouth one is very nondescript. If the others are similar and the same dimensionally, something is better then a hole in the dash. As for having them work I found that if you set the time and then hit the dash above the clock it will work for a bit or at least make some clock-like noises. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted March 21, 2010 Report Posted March 21, 2010 The difference between the brands of cars is size of the clock. For example, a DeSoto or Chrysler clock won't properly fit the hole of a Plymouth. Quote
Andydodge Posted March 21, 2010 Report Posted March 21, 2010 I have a nice colour photcopy of a 41 Plymouth clock mounted into the reversed blockoff plate.....held into the dash with some clear silicon as the blockoff plate ears are broken..........a piece of clear plastic sits over that and it works extremely well posting the correct time at least twice a day, no rewinding ,adjusting or setting is required and it works on the 12volts perfectly.................although it would be nice to hear it go tic,tic,tic..............lol..........andy(tightarse)d Quote
