woodscavenger Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 I am starting to finally get the sheet metal back on. The grill part seems to have a type of nut that is integrated into the sheet metal like a woodworking T nut. Are they a special thread? I tried 5/16 fine and it buggered up my bolts threads. A 1/4" fine will pass through it so I may bolt it all together with those but I would rather use the stock stuff. Any advice? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 The bolts in question have an Acme thread. It is a very course thread with squared off ridges. I searched high and low and came up empty. The only place I was able to get them was from a parts truck. You other option is to change the J-nuts to something with normal thread and use regular bolts. Here is a pic of a Acme Thread bolt that is used on our trucks. Merle Quote
