pflaming Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 Removed the door windows today. My truck does NOT have the vent widow. This is not a difficult task once one knows what to look for. The window clips are about the size of a quarter, come off by pushing them vertical to the glass. I used a little mirror to see what I needed to do. With the glass out, the entire inner side of the door is easy to get to, so will put in the accustical 'stuff' before I replace the glass. Question: sources for the 'whiskers', etc. Side note: Have time just now so moving quickly, when I get frustrated with one project or do not have needed parts I move on. Taking out the glass showed me it was time to get some insulation material on hand, even though insulating the cab is a ways off. Quote
grey beard Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Window sweep material - whiskers - is available from either Burnbum or Roberts - take your pick. You get twice as much as you need wirh one order. I put the stuff on the inside as well as outside cause' it works better than the little rubber blocks and keeps the glass a little tighter. Definitely do replace the glass channel rubber while the windows are out. Roberts also has that in lengths for both doors. Windows will be nice and tight with all that installed. Quote
