Andydodge
Have a mate who's been pestering me to install the Landon HEI in the P11 Coupe so I finally gave in and took the car around to his workshop early this week, he is a qualified mechanic, so I was gunna just be there for tool chasing anyway........talk about a difference the Langdon Mini HEI makes.......car starts instantly, in fact I can stand outside the closed door and reach in and hit the key(it has a later key start ignition) and VAROOM, idles @ 650-700, seems to have a little more get up & go, driveability seems better also no overheating(wasn't anyway), just a 100% improvement.......this is the original 201 P11 engine, I was gunna wait till the 230 engine was built and install the Langdon dissy with it but this is definately an improvement.....and we also made up some 2" lowering blocks for the rear springs and cut 3/4 of one coil from the front end, sits nice and level........gunna go hunt me some Frods..........andyd
BeBop138
Andy, langdon`s unit works but there is to much shaft spade slop. His spade end is smaller than the oil pump shaft and there was a 10 degree swing with the mechanical side. When the vacumm was hooked up it leveled out but you still have the mechanical fighting the vacumm side. Like using a small blade screwdriver on a large screw head. My buddy made some units from Chev HEI inline sixes and they work real well---they sit higher on the block and are easier to work with. Check out older posts about his dizzy....Good Luck

LAKOTA169
I ran in to Tom Langdon this summer at a cruise-in and asked him if his distributor would work in my car. He said it was for 12 volt only. Was the car you put it in 12 volt?
