Got my first set at Roberts-didn't fit right-and got another set from NAPA. Big difference in quality-not much difference in cost. Mike

Somebody either posted a reply to a thread or put a write up in another forum. It is pretty detailed to R&R the shackle but I can't find it now.

Question: On the shackle end of the spring, is there a bushing that is independent of the shackle or is it part of the shackle? That's where mine is sloppy. In other words do I replace the shackle or just a bushing?

If you're talking about the front end of the front springs yes, there is a removable bushing that is inside the spring eye. If you're talking about the back end of the springs, the C shaped shackle has a bushing on each end that screws on the shackle itself. Make sure that you check the mounting holes on the chassis (front and rear) to make sure that the holes are not hogged out. Mike

Dan, try this link to a post I did a while back. Maybe it will answer your question about taking the springs off. The shackle and the bushing are seperate parts.

You may need to replace both if they're worn too much. I got both the threaded bushing and the shackle through Eaton spring. http://www.eatonsprings.com/

Good luck, Dave
