Attached is a photo of the left front fender mount. To get your bearings, the body is on the left, the new bolt is attached to the frame and the 2 red bolts are attached to the fender.

Question 1: Is the mount attached to the body at this point or just the big 'L' bracket higher up?

Question 2: Is the inside wheel well sheet metal attaced to the frame at all?

What is happening is that if I go over a bump or railroad tracks, something goes 'KaBam' i think on the left side. I THINK what is happening is that the inside wheel well is flexing and slipping over the rivets on the frame.

The pictured mount is attached correct and the upper mount is the L bracket. What might be making the noise is the inner splash shield. On mine they are bolted to the front of the bracket in your picture and the rear of the large inner fender. If the rear porton is missing or not attached correctly it moves and hits the floor.

Hmmmm.... On mine, I have a traingular piece of sheet metal that attaches to the what I call the inner fender well (the big piece that has the hooks for the hood hold downs and is attached to the fender along the top and in 1 place in the front). Anyway, the triangular piece attaches in two places at the rear of the big piece and in 1 place to the frame. Where it goes under the cab it has about a 1 inch gap on the angle. Does the inner fender well actually touch the frame at all? Or is there supposed to be a welting or seal of any kind. From abrasion marks on the frame, mine does touch in a couple of places. Sometimes even backing out of the driveway the bounce is enough for the 'KaBam' and people jump.
