Suddensix Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 Well I have managed to post one photo. I'll try again later to post more. Right now heading out to a cruise night. Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 That is one good looking engine. Dennis:D Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 A dandy looking motor, I must say!! That red stands right out. Looks like the air cleaners should allow enough air thru for proper carb operation. Quote
blueskies Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 Very nice detail... I bet it sounds as good as it looks. Pete Quote

Just curious for future posters. Well to be perfectly honest I have no idea what a pop up blocker is. I went back and tried the way I'd done it before by clicking on "img code" then in the forum post right clicked on "paste" and there was the photo. Why it didn't work when I tried it before I have no idea. Thanks to all who offered help, one way or the other we got there. Now I'm going to see if I can do it again. Quote

Dale Uhrich Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 where did you get those aircleaners? the only thing i see very wrong with your motor is that it isn't in my truck. DANG ! good job give yourself a pat on the back Quote
Normspeed Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 Looks like your motor has all the good stuff. That fuel block is neat. Quote
Don Jordan Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 Same question - where did you get the air cleaners and how do they hook on to the carb. I got some cheap ones from Kragen Auto and they were supposed to fasten on with a screw that just tightens to the top flange of the carb. Problem is the carbs have an ever so slight angle in so I can't get the air cleaners to stay on. Of course even with new air cleaners my engine isn't going to come near to yours. I'd like to echo all the others: very KLEEN!!! Quote

DANG ! good job give yourself a pat on the back Thank you all for the nice comments, it makes the project worthwhile. The air cleaners are from a local guy who has a business making things out of spun aluminium. He is also a hot rodder. I think he said the cleaners were meant for some kind of dual carb set-up on SBC's. I used the bases from a couple of the small air cleaners that are popular so they would sit on the B&B's. I drilled two holes opposite one another in the top of the carbs then made a couple of bales out of some stiff wire, coathangers, 1/4" threaded rod and long nuts then bolted them on. As they say "Bob's your uncle." Quote
Bodacious Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 You weren't testing anything, you were just showing off. And rightfully so, that's some beautiful workmanship! Quote
