grey beard
I am looking at a 1950 Dodge Cornet Sedan. It is a light blue/grey color and the paint is original. The interior is nearly perfect EXCEPT that it has seat covers and the owner won't let me pull a corner up to see if the seats are as nice as the rest. Door panels and headliner are just fine. The body is nearly perfect and so is the chrome, but the first signs of wear are appearing on the bumper edges. Speedometer says 34K and the tranny is Fluid Drive. Dash woodgrain is fantastic and so are the rubber sill plates and flooring. I can find only one thing wrong with it - the brakes feel spongy and will likely need some redoing soon. It runs and drives like it should. The spare appears to be the oiginal wide whitewall. How much can I pay for this jewel and still hope tp get my investment back after I'm tired of it? The vehicle is in central Pennsylvania, and is indeed for sale in case any of you here are interested. Owner is currently asking $5500. 55 Fargo
There is a Dodge D25 in my area, it's a 4 door sedan, has great Chrome and Stainless, decent paint (may be original), new interior, 77000 miles, new coker tires, and has a current DMV safety certificate. This car is in real nice shape and the owner was asking $5000.00 for it, I was mighty tempted, but I would abandon my current(48 Chrys), if I bought it. 48mirage
Looking at the gold book, http://www.manheimgold.com/car_lo.html the sedan would have to be between excellent and show quality. Probably not quite there. The gold book is only a guide like any other the final choice is up to you.
