I thought I'd share this one with you all as I am sure some of you can relate.

So, on August 13 I FINALLY got my B2C in running order for the season. After some test runs to make sure everything was in working order I decided to take a load of lumber to my camper and build a small deck.

The ride there is about an hour and a half and, as usual, I left later than I wanted to. I decided to take a route that limited the number of steep slopes that lead to the huge hills my camper is located on. I have only driven the road once before in the daylight a looong time ago.

I hit a section of the road that was under construction in total darkness. By "under construction" I mean it was a myriad of holes, ditches, gravel, randomly placed construction barrels, and dust. The worst of the twisty part was on a downhill and my headlights were dimming from time to time (have since fixed that issue).

Between the play in the steering wheel, the fear that the load of wood in back and the bouncing was going to hammer my springs, the need to occasionally get the revs up to brighten my lights, and the little car on my butt like it was glued on, I had my first really white knuckle experience in a few years.

I have not laughed that much all by myself in a long time. Everything held up and I grinned like an idiot for the rest of the night around the campfire.

Just as an FYI - the load in the back consisted of mostly wet pressure treated wood. 24 2x6x8s, 40 5/8x6x8 decking, a couple 2x4x8s, 20 unsplit logs for the campfire and the little one's Little Red Wagon with pneumatic tires so he could pull around the frogs he catches without them bouncing around too much.
