Well, a nail to a tube was my clue that it was time to replace the decade old, dry rotted, bias tires that were on the truck when I got it. Coker has fixed me up with a set of bias-look radials, so I thought I should fix up the hub caps while I'm at it. A couple of questions: 1. Is there a product you can recommend for cleaning up and polishing the chrome caps? 2. Is there a paint that will adhere to chrome? I have the same problem with my Job Rated badge -- the paint starts to flake and then is almost gone. Do I need to rough up the area under the letter first? 3. Is there anything better than Rustoleum Rust Reformer for protecting the back sides of the caps after I sand most of the rust off? Thanks for your help. A couple of pictures... - Bob

I have a set of four Dodge hub caps I want to sell on ebay. They're currently on my truck, but they belong on a car. Anybody know what years these are correct for? Thanks in advance...and if you want them, let me know!

Alright, I'll admit I'm confused again. I want to know what the "correct" hub caps are for the 1953 model year. I was just browsing the DPETCA gallery and noticed a bunch of different types. I always thought the Pilothouse era trucks had the same type of cap, the "red dot" style. Maybe some heavy hitters could weigh in here... I know mine (attached pic) are not correct; I think they belong on a passenger car. And I'll admit it (gulp), the brown wheel paint isn't right either, but it matches the body color. On a related topic, anyone know of a source for Don Bunn's book for less than the average life insurance payout? I've looked it up on Amazon and related sites seen it always between one and three hundred dollars, new or used.
