Hello All! I have reviewed the posts in answer to a question some years ago about the access door on the 1940 P9 Roadking coupe. I was hopeful that someone would be so kind as to answer a question for me. I have searched the internet and have not been able to get an answer to whether or not the access door on the passenger side of the 1940 P9 had a "tarp-like" cover over it, like the one that covers the spare tire behind the driver's seat. The passenger side of my vehicle appears to have the remnants of was a tarp-like cover over the access door behind the passenger's seat, like that which appears behind the driver's side and covers the spare tire. I have attached a picture of the remnant of the material on the passenger for your review. In any event, would you kindly tell me whether there was a tarp-like cover over the access door behind the passenger seat, similar to that found behind the driver's seat that covers the spare tire? Further, if any would kindly attach pictures of the access door and tarp-like covers then that would truly be appreciated as well. I am in the process of restoring the vehicle and it is going to be a driver. I thank you in advance for your anticipated courtesy and consideration. Bruce Hondle

Hey there. Just picked up a 1940 2 door Plymouth and just trying to learn all I can about the car. I might bother a few of you with a question or two and hopefully I can contribute as well. A little bit about me: I live in Green Bay WI and have loved old cars all my life. I have had a 52 ford F100, 36 chevy truck, 38 ford truck and 41 chevy business coupe all at one time or another. Since my kids are getting older priorities have changed and thought it was time to get something new to work on.

I purchased what I thought was a replacement for my glove box in my 1940 Plymouth wagon. When it arrived it was obviously a different shape and allthough similar, in no way would fit. I contacted the eBay seller and explained what was going on. He was concerned and after sending him some measurements he determined that the factory did not make a correct 1940 Plymouth glove box and was obviously shipping the wrong shape and size. He offered to have them create a new correct glovebox if I had an old pattern to send back to the factory. I did and they will receive it this week. I am anticipating that they will want to know how many additional folks out there would want to purchase the correct one. I think I paid less than $30 and the construction is a heavy duty cardboard with the correct threaded fastener inserts and staples etc . Any interest you '40 guys?

In working to restore my '40 wagon to some semblance of stock, I tried very hard to peel off the maintenance sticker from the inside of the glovebox, with no luck! Seaplym has had various decals for sale on ebay over the years, at reasonable prices. I had never seen a the black and white '40 sticker before, and asked him about it. He said he would offer some soon and they are now posted for $ 7.50. Here is the item number 221207054604. It may be correct for other years- both my P9 and P10 had it. Seaplym is Neil Riddle, and he sells high quality Mopar stuff from Seattle.
