I have a 1948 dodge coupe with my stock 3 on tree fluiddrive, i found a transmission off 1948 desoto with tiptoe transmission for $200 can this fit my dodge? Would it help at gaining speed at lower RPM? Or should i just avoid it and keep what i got? Ps i understand the both have fluidrives

Make sense i believe the 218 donor came from an earlier Plymouth so best guess is to check clearances and use the rotor and keep the gear as garage deco or spare

Im rebuilding my 48 230 dodge coupe, motor was shot so i got a 218 donor block, i used the crank and rods off my original 230 but i noticed the the 218 came with a gear oil pump and my 230 with a rotor.. Question is what one is better to run? I tried searching here before posting another thread but no luck. rebuilding this motor i have learned a lot about this amazing motor but im still a bit green on some things. Thanks

I believe my regulator on my 48 dodge is going bad. If it sits more than a few days i have to polarize my generator but my battery still shows 6.56v. Once polarized my amp guage is bouncing all over and at a high iddle im showing 7.45 v. At battery, is this normal? Also can i run a 6v. Positive ground regulator that is meant for a tractor?

I have a 1948 dodge coupe. Original motor. What size is it or how can i tell? Is it 218 or 230? Also i have 40 psi at oil gauge once going about 60mph but at iddle i have very low psi. Is that normal?
