  2. someone on here posted pics of carraige bolts that had lights in them available in clear red or amber that would be clean in the bumper!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. No twin heaters maybe it is the reverse lights. Its in an odd place as it is on the roll and not on the lip.
  4. I have the electric gas cap on my car dont know if it works but there is a button on the bottom edge of the dash. I think this is for the gas cap and at the roll of the dash on the left side there is a pull switch that matches the rest of the dash was wondering if anyone knew what this is 47 special deluxe. thanks Scott
  5. I was gonna attempt to start my sedan today and got nothing out of the starter so I removed it and took the end cap off of the starter and the brush springs were broke and it was pretty rusty inside. The cap has the brushes made on it. I had a starter off of an old flathead willys and thought i could get lucky enough to use this but it was all to big in diameter. So if I am even gonna find out if this engine is worth the time I guess I am gonna have to spend a little change on the starter and hope for the best on the rest. If anyone has or knows where I can get a good starter or the parts to fix this please let me know thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scott
  6. how does zinc in oil have any effect on the cat. I could see zinc in gas being bad on the cat but not in the oil.
  7. yeah I read it all he used 11" rotors and cut the plate and welded it back together I was thinking of using the 12" rotors so nothing had to but cut just make the hubs adapt the vette has the same center hub size as what he used.
  8. Anyone know any thing bout using the backing plates from a straight axle four wheel drive chevy for disc conversion. I found a site where someone done this on a 48 and it got me to thinkin with the way it was done there had to be a rotor that would be the same diameter as the truck rotor you could use so i went to the local oreillys and got out the brembo book found the 88 95 vette rotor should fit the build but I havent found any backing plates to play with yet. http://home.wi.rr.com/dndrodshop/disc.htm this is the site I found this on.
  9. i am, used to be, an ase certified tech but have been a fireman for the past 6 years i am 34 and have been working on cars since i was 12 rebuilt first motor at 13 so i am kinda experienced i have the welding machines and lift and such as that just need pointed in the right direction. any info i can get will be greatly appreciated the guy i got this car from also has a 49 52 four door sedan he may not sell parts but if enough people need good parts it may be worth it to get car and part it out or may even be a good one to restore if anyone looking for one out there let me know and i will go get price and check it out closer. Im gonna try to crank this engine some time this weekend but not looking for much who knows may have a good engine here just dont know why the intake/exhaust is loose like it is couldnt run as loose as it is or at least i dont think it could. anyways thanks again. Scott
  10. hello folks scott here new to the whole plymouth scene but not new to cars by any means. just bought a 47 plymouth sedan deluxe which has been off the road since 1973 or at least thats when the last tag expired. anyway the motor is not locked up or anything but before i got the car home i had the grand idea that i was going to clip the car with a trans am clip and the rear and put a 00 fuel injected 5.3 from a chevy 4x4 and a overdrive trans. after getting the car home and looking at this site a lot i have found that converting the front to disc is the way to go with that and have been studying on that when i come up with my own disc conversion i will let you know what i have done but my big question now is i saw someone in little rock ar has a 54 chrysler flathead will this fit in the place of my engine with no probs? my engine is not locked up but the starter does nothing and the intake and exhaust is barely hanging there you can move the breather side to side about four inches so i have not tried to start it. I thought if the bigger chrysler motor would fit I could sell the 5.3 and stick to the original style engine thats way cooler. any help will be greatly appreciated thanks Scott
