  1. My local auto parts store sent mine away and got them rebuilt
  2. So I put the inspection camera down the oil filler hole and noticed the floating pickup seemed a bit to high and thought it was oddly close to the front of the pan , so I poked it with the end of the camera and it was not floating it was stuck against the front of the pan. Pushed again on it and it dropped down and is now floating and I have 42 psi at idle . So my only conclusion is that the top half of the suction tube that is threaded into the bottom of the block has moved and had repositioned the tube not allowing the lower part to float, I did just have the pan off I may have jammed the pick up tube then . otherwise it is working normal no engine damage done crisis has been diverted .
  3. I am going to do an oil change and see if the oil pickup swivel is a concern , I pulled the filler tube and will use the inspection camera to see what height the currant level is in relationship to the swivel and report back .
  4. OK my low oil pressure situation is back , I have 15 psi on cold engine start up then after 60 seconds of running oil pressure drops to 10 then fluctuates to 5psi then back up to 10 then down to 2-5 psi then back every 5seconds and continues to do that , unless I increase the throttle then it might go to 15 at about 1500rpm .
  5. That definitely looks like you got some good engines to build up into a nice power plant, I wish I new more about the cam grinds that those engines used in the combines it could help in making it a better street engine , either way the engine was a good find . Sold my supercharger so I am giving up on that option ,
  6. Desotodav I remember see those under there I will see if they aren't siezed and try to adjust the pedal height then I can remove the optional C belt "thing a ma whatchamacallit "
  7. Mine has a piece of C width fan belt screwed down but I think it was put there to reduce the released pedal travel and stop the arm from hitting the floor boards .
  8. I would sell it , I will pull it out of storage and take pictures of it and PM you , my only concern is I am up in Canada and these would be costly to ship ??? IMO
  9. I have a Fulton style in storage but they are all aluminum and to flimsy these are steel and much better IMO .
  10. This is the centre bracket
  11. I built my own centre bracket , I thought the bracket that was attached to the centre of the windscreen was flimsy. Mine is good with no movement at 65 mph .
  12. I like the rim on the kitchen table with flowers in it ,it makes for a nice centre piece , it's just my wife isn't as understanding as yours mine wouldn't let me bring parts past the garage door your so lucky . Ha ha
  13. You missed we have no "Trump "
  14. Most pedals are made of cast and are usually fairly solid but I guess there plus or minus spec s where off a bit that day .
  15. You should buy all my old snowmobile parts 30 plus sleds in boxes ????
  16. Rockwood that was on the weekend we have had a lot of it melt in the last four days , I think all the snowmobiles are going to be parked until it gets cold or snows more .
  17. I I am confused why you would need winter oil , I will send a picture of what our winters look like we don't get the luxury of driving them in the winter as you can see by the snow on some of my parts trucks , that's OK pretty soon it will be summer and will be driving them every day to make up for the fact that in winter we get to park them. And the part that sucks is we have all winter to work on our vehicles but we can't find any of our replacement parts because they're all buried in snow .
  18. It was 5w30 oil , you are correct . Thought I had a real serious issue while checking my pressure I could hear a ping /grind sound after a lot of searching found the starter was sticking and it was hitting the ring gear and making a not welcome sound . All is good now !!!
  19. OK I am confused and happy at the same time I dropped the 10w30 oil which after only running the engine for two hours and put on 5miles the oil was thin looking but clean , put in new 30 w oil 5 litres which put it just above the full mark 1/16 of an inch over , start the truck and the fluctuating in the oil gauge is gone ran the engine for ten minutes and still sits just over 40 on the gauge , rev engine up and it might go to 45/50 ish .so my conclusion is that not only does my truck not like 10w30 oil but it also likes to be right on the full mark which is 5 litres of oil not including the filter .
  20. My rims where red before the Internet was born so therefore the Internet opinions don't count ha ha . This picture was the day we bought the 52 Fargo in 1999 still the same paint on the rims .
  21. Wow that is clean , mine wasn't that clean and there was a lot of sludge in the valve tappet area and oil pan I have installed a PCV system and I run the engine as hot as possible so I am hopping this will help keep the engine s internals clean .
  22. It leaked so much I was running anything that I had ,but all the leaks are fixed now so I will drop the oil In favour of some 30w and report back to the group tomorrow. Wish me luck I did get the old truck all polished up and ready for the first day that the roads are dry . Now the 52 gets to sit in the garage with out its bib under it.
  23. I did not pull the pickup tube off the engine but it did move up and down freely , is there an oring in the strainer swivel I checked the parts book and it doesn't show anything , I will drop the oil tomorrow and be putting 30w in. I put 5.3litre of oil in and it's touching the full mark on the original dipstick.
  24. Cleaned the screen when the pan was off it was dirty but normal for its age ,swapped out the oil pressure relief valve spring with another spare and also swapped out the relief plunger but no change to the fluctuating issue .
