That is exactly what I would need for the 53 dodge truck. Thank you again.

Thank you very much for the picture. Does anyone else have pictures of the supporting brackets on top that lead to the fenders and front clip. All the support I can get would be great. Thank you all.

I have a 1953 dodge truck short box step side truck. The truck is in a full hot rod restoration and I am mounting the rad back into the horse shoe mounting bracket. I have the manual someplace but have temporarily misplaced it. Can someone send me how to properly mount the tank on the rad support and how the other metal around it mounts to the rad and the rad supports. I am hoping not to have to get a new manual as it will show up eventually. Thank you

I wish someone would make replacement high sides. The demand is present.

How Many Pilot House Trucks Have Survived?
richardb replied to Bradley S.'s topic in Mopar Flathead Truck Forum
I like the fact that someone is trying to figure out how many trucks are left. I have a harder question to answer. I have a Canadian 1953 Dodge truck. How many were made and how many are left? I am rebuilding mine from the ground up and turning it into a hot rod. It should be an original? It would be interesting to find an answer to this question. -
It is now obvious that I own a high side box. I thank you very much for all your help. I am searching yet am unable to find anyone who manufactures new box sides for the high side. Has anyone found any?
-
I am surprised that there are so many of you that own the trucks but none of you would do me the favor of taking a tape measure and measuring the height of the box sides. It takes about 10 seconds when you are at your truck. I just don't want to make a mistake. Thank you for your help

Would anyone be able to measure how high they are? My box sides are all apart and have been apart for the last 16 years. It is hard to compare them. I measured them and they are about 22" to the top of the curl. The side I have almost looks like the low side. I also have different fenders which came on the 53. Mine are not so rounded. I am just hoping someone will be able to measure the boxes to help me out. Thank you very much.

I have a 1953 dodge shortbox truck and I am trying to figure out if I have a low side or high side box. My box sides measure about 19" to the bottom of the curl and about 22 " to the top of the curl. Is this a low side or a high side box. I want to get it right before I order new box sides. If I got it wrong that would be one expensive mistake. Thank you everyone for your help.

I think I have one but it is from a 53. Are they different?

Running boards and nose/grille pieces on e-Bay
richardb replied to B1B Keven's topic in Mopar Flathead Truck Forum
Are the grill bars from the 52 the same as a 53? -
I am amazed with all the technology in the world no one has built a site where you can downlaod a picture and sample rims and tires on it. If I sold rims and tires this would be something I would invest in. Just a thought.

1948 B1F Out of the Paint Shop!

Is that an orange color or a red color? What color is the truck? -
I am in the heat of a hot rod restoration. I am looking to put some new rims on the vehicle. Has anyone run across a wheel simulator? I would like to load a picture of the truck and then be able to view different rims on the truck. You would think that his would be easy with todays technology but I am unable to find such a website. Has anyone tried this or run across such a site?

Small but essential body part needed
richardb replied to richardb's topic in Mopar Flathead Truck Forum
I did send you a message in return. I hope that you got it. I am in Edmonton, Alberta. I see that you are in B.C. It will greatly help that it does not have to cross the border. -
Small but essential body part needed
richardb replied to richardb's topic in Mopar Flathead Truck Forum
I tried to send you a private message but your inbox is full and it will not allow me to send another. I will gladly purchase the drivers side piece if it is available and hope that it is the same. Are you able to send it express. I will gladly pay you for the part and the shipping (overnight would be great). I will take the chance that the part is the same. If not I will make the part available to someone else who may need it. Thank you. -
I am posting this in the sections that I think the most people will see it. I am fitting the front end the truck back together and need a part that I am missing. I have a 1953 Dodge truck pilot house truck. Progress has been going well but I have come to a stop because I am missing a much needed piece. It is the part that sits at the rear of the fender that ties the fender to the running board to the frame. Here is a picture of the one on the passenger side. I NEED the one on the DRIVERS SIDE. Does anyone have and extra one or one that I can purchase. Thank you everyone for your help!

Starting to test fit the cab and front end sheet metal. If any modifications are going to be made this is the time to do it. Has to be done before final priming, sanding and paint starts to go on the cab.

There was a strip at the bottom of both doors that needed to be replaced. The strips were probably about six inches tall and the width of the door. That is where it will rust eventually. At the bottom of the door where the water sits. Nice to see it get redone. Lots of work going on and I will post the progress as it happens.

Bruce Horkey is making box parts. I am wondering has anyone ordered these parts. Are the accurate to the original ones? I am wondering if this may be a better way to go than restoring the originals. Are the front and the tailgate accurate? I would appreciate any input that someone may have about them. Thank you.

I feel bad now. I put a new independent front suspension in my truck and got rid of the old parts. I made a post offering people the parts and no one responded so I got rid of everything. Hopefully someone can help you out.
