Thanks for the kind words Andy. And if anyone needs anything off of a 48 Dodge 4 door Please contact me soon. I am trying to keep this car from going to the crusher but am running short on time( about 2 weeks at the most). The only items I have sold are the visor and the motor. Plenty of good body parts tranny and interior parts. All parts are cheap I am not trying to make a ton of money I just hate the thought of junking any old car and I am just trying to make some of my money back. So again Please help me save this car or atleast some of it from the crusher. Anyone interested can email me at jeff.pierson@covidien.com or call me at cell (508)294-2143 home(508)947-4583 Thanks again Jeff

Thanks Ed I am keeping my wifes toy its a 72 Plymouth Scamp so me and the boy:D will have an old mopar to play with. And my daily driver is a 79 IH Scout II that I hope to pass on to him when he gets to be driving age. I am more bummed out that the car might end up being reborn as a toyota than I am to see it go. I will hate to see it go but if it goes to someone who can use it and enjoy it that would atleast make me feel better than just sending it to a junkyard. and if it comes down to me junking it I would gladly give you the motor out of it if you could get it shipped out there. The thought of junking any old car kills me.

Hi evryone I ask the moderaters to leave this here for a couple of days since there is more traffic in here than in the classifieds. I have 48 Dodge four door that I need to get rid of fast. My wife and I are having our first baby and are putting an addition on our house to make a second bedroom. I have no time space or money to do any thing with the car. There is no title so I am trying to sell it as a parts car. The engine runs great the brakes are frozen so I don't know how it drives. It is all original with very little rust through and is 100% complete the only thing missing is one knob on the dash. I am only asking 550 for it. Construction is scheduled to start 1st or 2nd week of june and if I still have it then I will be forced to send it to a junk yard which I do not want to do but have no choice. Please someone save it you can contact me by email at jeff.pierson@covidien.com or call me at (508) 294-2143. the car is located in Middleboro Ma. about 30-45 minutes north of Rhode Island. Thanks in advance Jeff

Hi everyone I have a visor off a 48 Dodge that I am selling. The guy who wants it has a 41 plymouth. Does anyone know if it would fit his car? He lives in Australia and I don't want him to pay to have it shipped all that distance to find out it won't work for him. Thanks for the help Jeff

Thanks I thought the price seemed way too high. It is a 1948 Dodge D24 the carb is a Stromberg BXVD-3 and under that number is a smaller type number 382599. I have had the carb soaking in a can of carb cleaner for about a week so I can see the numbers and there is no guessing through the grime. thanks again Jeff

Hi guys i am in need of a carb rebuild kit and the onley one I could find locally is at a place that specializes in all old parts. They have one in stock for 103.00 dollars. Is this the normal price or should i try somwhere else? Anyoneknow where I can get one for a more resonable price. thanks Jeff

Thanks guys that helped alot and 48mirage that is the number on the side I was having a hard time figuring out if the last number was an 8 or a 3 and I gave the parts store the number with it ending in 8. I am going to call them and get the right rebuild kit. Thanks again you guys rock

Hi all I was trying to get a carb rebuild kit for my Dodge, its a 48, and I assumed it had a carter. But after a soak in the carb cleaner I found out it is a Stromberg. Is this original for my car and How do I tell what model I have? I did a search on here and a google search and all I could come up with is info on the 97's and it looks a little diferant than the one I have. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jeff

Horay it started and moved under its own power. My farther inlaw heard it crank the other day and got excited to hear it run so he came over this weekend and we decided to play around with it. A couple of weeks ago I bought a new battery and hooked it up to see what worked and what didn't work and just about every thig worked but no start. ( I haven't moved my tools to the new house yet so I was working with channel lock pliers and a 4 way screw driver) so I borrowed a meter from work and had 6v on one side of the coil and about 2.1v on the other side. So when dad inlaw came over he said that it probaly just had bad points so we poped of the dis. cap cleaned the points and then set the gap. We were going to pull the plugs but had no plug socket so we said what the hell and poored a little gas down the carb hit the start button and it fired with out a problem. It ran a little rough for the first couple of seconds and then smoothed right out. The choke stove was a little rusted up so we had to bring it off by hand but it warmed up idled smooth and moved a couple of feet with 3 flat tires and a front brake locked. Hopfully this weekend I can go play with the brakes and make run and drive after new tires. And to all who helped me with pointers and tips thank you

old mopar fan replied to old mopar fan's topic in P15-D24 Forum
thanks guys the cables look like they have been changed recently i will have to check the size. Does anyone know the coil values so i can figure out if I have a bad coil or if I need to do some more connection cleaning. -
Well I got the battery the other day checked all the fluids all looks good. So I hook up the battery check the lights all work bit the center one on trunk lid, flip on the directionals both sides work, hit the wiper switch they work a little slow but they work and then I tried cranking it. It did crank seemed a little slow is this from the 6 volt system? I have never played with 6 volt before. Cleaned all the conections still cranked at the same speed. Then I pulled off the coil wire on the distributer to check for spark very week. What should i get for resistance across the coil? Any other words of advice will be greatly appreciated. thanks Jeff

It looks like a C5 rebodied with a 57 style noise and a 59 chev. rear. I just went to the web site it is n2amotors.com. It is a c6 rebodied and the wildcat and the other 5 to 1 both look incredible.

Cool thanks guys wel I don't have any wiring around the carb except the starter to choke wire so I have the reguler 3 speed. I'll have to look at the heater tonight to see what it is. thanks again Jeff

What year lumina is it. I ask this because starting in 96 (not positiveof year) they started using rotors that were as thin as you can go new the are replace only and if you turn them it will definetly give you a pulsing. There is not enough metal there and the warp real easy. I was a gm tech for about 7 years and remeber that as the rotors got near the end of there life it would give a slight pulsing. and Norm you have a cracked wheel speed sensor that when it gets wet the voltage changes and makes the computer think one or more wheels is not turning and disabling the system. If you no someone with a scanner this is areal easy fix. Your whoomping feel is not the abs if it was the light would come on when the abs started doing its thing. the water is probally lubing up somthing thats binding slightly.

SO I was just looking at the options list and it seems mine has a few. Like directionals, Pass. side wiper and viser, locking glove box, cowl antenna, exterior sun viser, and heater. Seems funny now a days that this stuff was optional. How do I tell what heater it has? and how do I tell the difference in the fluid drive trannies. Cool site Ryan thanks I'm going to order a manuel this weekend

Never mind the where do I get a manuel question I just found it in the links section

Thanks for the freindly hello's. Well I figured out the user cp and changed my profile thanks Bob. My currnet auto list lets start with my dd. Its a 79 international scout II 345 auto 296K, next is my 2000 camaro ss I always wanted to go into a dealer and order a muscle car from the factory so thats what I did.then theres the 72 plymouth scamp old lady car that we got for the wife to have a toy it has a 318 and no other options. She got hit in the front at a stop so we found nos fiberglass fenders and fiberglass hood with a roadrunner 440+6 hoodscoop then we 2 toned it flat black on top with a forest metalic green lower. and then there is the dodge i picked it up for 500 all original solid metal was running last summer but the owner had his buisness go belly up and hasn't started it since then, the interior is pritty beat up but all the pieces are there trim, interior, engine. The car was last on the road in 93. How do I tell if it is the manual or auto fluid drive the shifter seems to have the same slop where ever you put it, up foward down up back down I tried to go threw it like a three on the tree but felt no diference in the over all play to it? The car just made it home sunday night so I havn't had any time to get under and play the shifter might not be hooked to anything any more. And where can I find a shop manuel for it I know there value and use the ones i have frequently

I'm not very computer literate how do I ad stuff to my profile
