  1. I was putting my Langdon distributor in the other night and had the same vacuum canister issue. Turns out, he included a photo that shows the HEI canister pointing downward. So it does not point in the same direction as stock. Mine drops right in, only thing missing was the O-ring. Tom offered to send me one, but i found one in the plumbing aisle at Lowes.
  2. Derek- Nice trade! I have seen this car in person several times (I live in Orchard Park) and always thought it was pretty sharp. I also have a dodge business coupe, 1949. its still in project stage and I keep going back and forth on keeping it or selling it. Mine also has the flat six but I picked up a T5 that i hope to put in it if I keep it. I also like them LOWWWW..... Currently have 3" blocks, but not low enough. It may be the first car that I air bag (rear only).
  3. Those are the ones. I guess they "ugly" but vintage.
  4. Not sure of the cfm, but if one will power a 134 cube 4 cylinder, 2 should be enough for a 230 six Cyl. Flange looks the same and i think orientation is same.
  5. Has anyone ever tried running two Solex carbs, (stock type from Willys flatfender Jeeps) on a dual intaked flathead six? They are cheap and easy to find new, and have a nice vintage look to them.
  6. Hey Deathbound, how do the dual weber/carters run? Is it too much carb?
  7. Thanks for the info guys. Don- I was reading some forum posts (not sure if it was this forum or a different one) and a couple guys commented that having only 100 HP, putting an A/T on it would not be good.
  8. I know a lot of you are against running a late model transmission and most seem to favor a t5 if they do upgrade. I have also seen comments posted that a late model automatic "would probably" take too much horse power...etc. So what I am looking for is real world input from someone who has done it. Was it worth it? Does it really steal all the power? What trans are you running, what adapter, rear gear ratio etc? thanks
  9. Will stainless windshield trim and rear window trim from a 1950 plymouth fit on a 1950 dodge business coupe?
  10. Thanks guys. I know i can get most of what I need from Kanter, but their prices are pretty high, and i only use them when i can't find it somewhere else. I was hoping for something i could buy at a local parts house. The pass side #'s listed on this site look to be early 70 dodge truck #'s. I have 3 with the car, just need to figure out which fit where and buy the 4th one.. Plus I have the PLY-DO kit to put in the cavalier rack/pinion, but it does not look like it will clear the oil pan on the 440.
  11. So I've got a '47 Plymouth convertible I'm trying to piece together, and I need some tie-rod ends. I see a part # listed in the technical section for the right side bar (long bar on pass side?) but nothing listed for the short driver side bar. Does anyone know why they are different to start with? I have 3 of the old ones and they all look alike. Cany anyone give me some valid part #'s? Thanks - John
