Thanks. yea I was gonna swap to disk brakes as the next goal. Don’t want drum, they work and all but I think I want more modern so will look into that. So yes getting disk is something I wanted anyways.. and in terms of rear axle change thanks for giving me that info so I can now go do some honing research on what I will need to do.. including to mount either a 318 or 360 along with tranny mounts

I am going to want to put in a bigger motif at some point.. so I’m thinking will I have to swap the rear to handle that. I’m thinking either 318 or maybe 360 but I want to know how to figure what would work to fit for a swap. Or would I just need diff?

That is exactly what I am looking for and while I understand that this forum is fantastic I have already met some very cordial folk, and to all of them. ( Much obliged) what I’m hoping for is to see folks car builds. I know this forum can provide those things.. but I enjoy seeing the Beasts having spur of the moment questions , comments. Can hone in on what you wanna see, or discuss . I know many folk ain’t willing to do that nowadays except car shows. I’m hoping to see the art and class and be a gopher even … some shells are harder to crack than others as well.. that’s why it’s just a olive branch a friendly token.

Pleasure again Gents.. and ladies. I have gotten to taking my window trim out to give them like once again. I have gotten to my rear windows and the weatherstrip around the window is brittler than all the others ones. Does anyone have a ol secret. That will give that some elasticity back without breaking it ….. only because it’s like 340. And I’m like damn… so maybe try not to break it. But if I have to get new. Then so be it. So a try here..

And #2 non hardening for the head bolts as well.

I just recently redid my gasket on 230. And I don’t know if you have like blown head gasket or anything but I got my head magna fluxed and milled and then freeze plug .. got double sided copper gasket and adapted it with permeated gasket spray. Re tapped holes to clean em up. Cleaned cooling holes because they were filthy. All the normal things. Got a nice tip for putting it back. Went out and bought two bolts identical to the head bolts cut the head off and put one in the front one in the back so when I placed the gasket and the head they were all lined up. Then put my bolts down and torqued and re torqued after I ran engine. Came out good I think

Would it be to much trouble to show me a few pictures? I live in California so the cold isn’t really gonna be a factor unless I’m like in the mountains at 4am to even be considered close to freezing on a winter day… but I would like to see it.. if it’s not a huge problem.

Howdy gents so I got some new exhaust manifolds from 12 bolt tom and I want to get ready to for the install in the near distant future.. I have the heat plate etc etc. but I wanna know how would I install the heat plate ? I tried looking up older threads but only some luck.. curious as to what some folks have done …. Hoping to get pointed in the right direction

That’s what I’m trying to do Is have the dash out in space. And I have it off kind off. Off because it is off but still in place and I can’t pull it out as far as I want too. Without clipping the whole harness off. I want to look at it a little better and see if I can maybe cut back far enough and then splice just for now until I’m ready to get into it and get the stuff for it together

Yea I need to get the space to get back there comfortably because being upside down on my head isn’t exactly the most exciting thing.. I got it off but the harness only allows me to pull it so far so have to do some more digging

And yea when I was looking at the harness I was imagining like most of it was 14Awg just to sight . And yea also just going on site like 2 looked like 10 Gauge and then two others ones were a little thicker. Yea I was having trouble removing my Gauge cluster to get to the harness comfortably…

I do have the shop manual and I was looking at the diagram and I didn’t see any wire gauge either .. hmmm interesting

Howdy gents I have a 48 Dodge Custom, I have examined my harness and my cables are old and crumbling and I’m looking to replace them. I have old original wiring harness I’m sure. I don’t truly wanna buy a harness already made so I’m most likely making my own. So what gauge are these old wires I don’t see any markings . How many ? I noticed two different ones if I’m correct. Ome from the motor compartment and one runs off towards the rear . Any help appreciated. thanks in advanced . Fredo

Thanks sniper always giving me a lot to chew on sir. Was considering getting new head but all sold out until god knows when. But thanks for giving me good pictures to refer too and good general direction. Using the old one just for hope the bad boy kicks over and all that. But in future I wanna get n aluminum head. So with that being said. Thanks again for all that info to chew on for a bit
