Hi all, Been a long time lurker here and I now need some information:
I purchased a "new"1949 B1F last year, A little clean up from sitting for 60 yrs and i drove it the 220 miles home with no problems and have been using it ever since with never an issue, The break-in period has now passed and it's first full service shows everything to be in excellent shape, the original tires are going to have to be replaced as dry rot has softened the tread but thats a small price to pay.
To my question, I have been looking for a 5 speed trans with OD for the dodge trucks for many years and have struck out, originally wanting it for my '53 dump truck, but that has been retired so now i want it for the '49.
As this is an original survivor truck I don't want to chop or alter anything, I need an original 5 speed spur gear trans (no synchro for me). Does anyone here have one? or know where I could pick up a good trans or even a rebuildable core?
