  1. And a nice Plymouth Suburban...
  2. Over the holiday weekend we took a visit to grandma's house in Medford OR. A local car lot had THREE beautiful cars! First, a 51 Plymouth Concord... Now, the crazy part... Asking price $27K!!!
  3. Don't know if they are the same, but my P15 front bumper bar is 26 & 1/4" from side to side (approximate). Hope that helps.
  4. Great pics!!! Thanks for sharing.
  5. Greg, thanks for the advice. The mechanic while replacing the rear trans seal noticed the band was down to the rivets. I suspect he was thinking the rivets had caused some damage. I'll start with the new band and a new cable and see how it goes. You are right, it doesn't seem like something that would need to be replaced unless it's cracked or damaged by rust... Tod, no picture since it's back together. When I get the new band I'll take a pic. Thanks!
  6. Mark - great advice. Your description fits my conditions exactly.
  7. Yup, weekends are often crazy for my house too... would be fun if we could do it.
  8. May the force be with you Marty!!
  9. I need to replace my E-brake band and possibly the drum. A couple of questions... I see that Andy Bernbaum has the band assembly, but anybody know where I can get a drum? Is the drum something that can be reconditioned? Also, the exploded diagram in this thread... what book does this come from? Anybody have a source for the manual? Thanks!
  10. Ubetcha!!! Ken I work in Silicon Valley but live in Oaktown. Marty, get er' runnin' and let's all try to schedule a Saturday or Sunday breakfast meet somewhere in the Bay Area? Tod you in?
  11. So far THREE!! ...maybe legion? Or just settle for a small group of fellow enthusiasts is good.
  12. Adam, Thanks!! I'll keep that in mind. Having the generator and V-regulator checked for peace of mind... Cheers, Kirk
  13. Yeah, well the Amp gauge seems to be working perfectly while driving home... was "assuming" and you know what that means, that it was the generator making the funky noise. Unrelated and a new discovery for an unexperienced vintage car owner!!
  14. Now that is an interesting approach!!
  15. Hey Tod, Thanks! I'm going to try to pull it on to the rack at Sears across the street. Tighten bolts and away I go... I'm thinking a basic set of tools in the trunk at all times isn't a bad idea...!!! Cheers, Kirk
  16. WHEW! Further investigation (in 90 degree heat!!!) I found the source of the awful sound... the bolts are loose holding the exhaust pipe to the manifold. There is a Sears shop across the street either get them to snug it up or buy some tools before going home. And yes, I DO have AAA, and their 100 mile towing plan - WHEW!!
  17. Drove my Club Coupe to work today (55 miles), and the ride in was great. Went out to go to lunch, cranked it over, started and there is an AWFUL noise. First thought it might be exhaust, but further inspection it sounds like rattling, something loose perhaps. Then I noticed that the amp gauge is on zero. Turned on the headlights, goes to the negative side. Turned them off, throttled up a bit, turned the lights on AND turn signals; negative side and pulses with the blinker on the negative side. Perhaps the generator? If so, is driving it back home the 55 miles risky? HELP!
  18. Got it. I have a 50/50 mix now.
  19. Thanks Gents - gives an point of reference. I'll avoid the physical temp check until I have nothing else to do!
  20. Thanks Niel!!
  21. Thanks Robert!!
  22. I have a leaky rear trans oil seal. I bought a new one from Andy. The question is: * Is there some sort of pilot bushing that goes ahead of the seal? There is another part listed, "Case Extension Bearing"... does this go on the rear of the front of the shaft? Part T110 for 40-56 Plymouth.
  23. BEAUTIFUL!!! Want to do mine?!!
  24. I just have the front suspension rebuilt on my Club Coupe. HUGE improvement. My question is: The steering wheel bar used to be horizontal when the car was going straight; now it's not. Does the steering wheel shaft have a key or can it just be pulled off, straightened out on the splines?
  25. Typically my P15 runs at 160 on the gauge. A couple of questions: * what are the estimated temperatures between 160 and 212? * Is 212 "over heat?"
